Violet ex launched the Scarlet & Violet generation in Japan alongside its sister set, Scarlet ex, and its cards went on to form much of the English Scarlet & Violet base set. It brought Pokémon ex back to the Pokémon TCG and introduced the first wave of Pokémon from Paldea.
